Scholarships
The National Institute for the Word of God offers a partial scholarship for lay students in the STB degree program at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception; the scholarship will be awarded to the student who is “best qualified to further the effective communication of the revealed word of God as the primary pastoral work of the Church.” The scholarship is named the Gilbert V. Hartke, O.P., Scholarship and is for $3,000 per year for three successive years (for a total of $9,000). Applicants for this scholarship must be accepted for matriculation in the STB program at the Pontifical Faculty, and submit a letter of application to the Dean of the Faculty indicating the student’s interest in the scholarship and describing how the goals of the scholarship can be satisfied in that person’s studies.
Students interested in applying for this scholarship should submit their letters of application to the Dean of the Pontifical Faculty by 1 April; application for this scholarship will include permission for the transcripts and letters of recommendation submitted in support of the student’s admission to be shared with the National Institute for the Word of God, which will take the final decision on the winner of this award.
Any questions may be addressed to the Dean of the Pontifical Faculty.
